Today we left the Scenic Amber and we’re off to part II of our trip! But for Phil’s birthday we kicked it off by going to the historic SZÉCHENYI thermal bath. The building was built in 1913 and you could tell by many of the visitors this was a daily social event for many senior Hungarians. I booked us a private room in the spa along with a detox treatment and massage. We also had to try out the Beer Soa which is where they put you in a wooden tub with the thermal waters with added hops, barley and bath salts…but the funny part of right next to your tub is a beer tap! Phil loved it!
That evening we went on a Danube River dinner cruise and we agreed so far of all the cities we have seen Budapest has the most beautiful nighttime skyline along the river. On our way home we stopped and rode the Ferris wheel including sipping champagne to close out our celebration! What an excellent day celebrating my favorite guy!
