We are kicking off this Mediterranean vacation with 4 days in the French Riviera. Our first full day we spent going to Cannes to see where the famous film industry festival happens which was to begin in 1939 but was cancelled at the last minute due to WWII so started in 1946. There was a super yacht event going on and the yachts we saw were just over the top. We were told that a good yacht has at least one helicopter pad…ha ha! After we returned to Nice we headed to the old town city center and had an amazing lunch, walked the promenade, enjoyed the beautiful blue water of the Côte d’Azur! We climbed over 300 steps to the top of castle hill with the most beautiful overlook! We wrapped up our final day with hanging at the pool at our home overlooking the beautiful bay! Dinner cooked from steak bought at a local butcher! An amazing first day!
