What a day in St Tropez! Our tour guide Laura was wonderful and educated us all the way on our drive to St Maxine where we caught a ferry across the bay to St Tropez. What we saw were Yachts, yachts and more yachts….we were just blown away by the sheer number of this massive boats on the bay and in the harbor! our first stop was the market day that is held in the main square where we found clothes, jewelry, food and interiors and it was fabulous…good news for our wallets was that none of us have room in our luggage to take anything home. After the market Laura walked us around St Tropez and down some lovely side streets showing the beach as well as the WWII memorial where they celebrate every year the ally landing just a few short weeks after Normandy. Lunch was our final stop in St Tropez which was right on the harbor walk where we had an amazing meal looking out at these mega yachts. Next we were off to tour a winery.
We stopped at a beautiful winery called Fondugues Pradugues. There we tried 2 rose’ wines which are the primary wine made in the region as well as a red that is served chilled. We enjoyed all 3 that we tasted and even bought a few bottles to bring back to our house. The grounds were lovely!
Our final stop today was the quaint village of Ramatuelle. This adorable small village was first from the Middle Ages but the buildings we saw were primarily from the 16th century. The streets were small, with lots of charm and greenery to brighten things up. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day!
