2 More MLB parks down

In our effort to visit all Major League Ballparks we decided to take a trip to both Kansas City and St. Louis to take down to more parks and catch one Dodgers game.

Day 1 Kansas City

We landed in Kasas City just in time to get to the hotel and do a couple of conference calls (the joy of having to work when trying to travel)!   We went to Jack Stach BBQ to try KC BBQ and I have to say it is really hard to top the amazing BBQ Phil dies at home!  The Royals vs Tigers game was at Kauffman stadium (called The “K”).  The stadium was built in 1973 and has since had some upgrades to allow more seats, an amazing family fun zone and the largest jumboton in MLB.  We both really like the stadium and it’s feel….not to mention the weather was great.  We also got the pleasure of seeing Miguel Cabrera, future hall of fame play. We found out the Cabrera was the last player to be added to the Triple Crown of baseball at this field in 2012. The triple crown is when a player leads in 3 statistical categories in one season…batting average, home runs and RBIs. The one that won that before Cabrerra was Carl Yastrzemski in 1967. The Royals won and we are now off to St. Louis.

Day 2 St. Louis

A very busy day starting with a train ride from KC to St. Louis…we were able to work and relax and take in the Missourri river along the way. Once in St. Louis even though I hate heights we tackled the Gateway Arch which whole somewhat terrifying for me..was amazing! Then off to Busch stadium that was built in 2006, Phil had been to the previous Busch stadium in 2005 with Matt & Eric. We had AMAZING seats and while the Dodgers did not beat the Cardinals the game was awesome and we really love the park.

Day Heading Home

We took a lazy morning approach and then decided to head over to the Blues Museum before heading to the airport. Overall a great trip and we are now down to just 9 parks left…that is until they build new ones!
