Chicago – 10 Year Anniversary Trip!

Day – 1 White Sox Game

We just love Chicago so what better place to spend a fun anniversary weekend. This trip we are staying at the cool and swanky Chicago Athletic Club which is right on Millennial Park with an awesome rooftop bar and a smashing view of the lake. Of course we needed to get to White Sox Guarantee Rate field and mark one more park off our list, the park itself really was nothing special but the team has a long history starting in 1900 and known as the “Southside” team. To top off the evening it was Elvis night including Seal team members parachuting into the park and fireworks to end the night!

Day 2 – Daytime Chicago

Day 2 started with a beautiful morning a,d a brunch of mimosas and pizza….what could be better? Then we finally took the river architectural boat tour which was awesome, and learned so much about the buildings surrounding the Chicago river. We wrapped up our afternoon in the game room of our hotel so Phil could dominate the shuffleboard table….now back to the room to get ready for dinner and some jazz!

Day 2 Evening of Jazz

We had dinner at Monteverdi which we had learned about watching the show Somebody Feed Phil. You could watch the women making the pasta live while we ate. It was very good. We then had some time to kill so shot a couple of games of pool….we are horrible! Ha ha ha. We then made our way to the Jazz Showcase to see a woman named Dee Alexander and she did not disappoint. She is local to Chicago and been playing here for years. Last night was a dedication to a man named Charlie Parker who had a very tragic life but made some amazing music through it all.

Farewell Chicago you have been fun!
